Local name: Muzeum Fryderyka Chopina

The Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw is the most modern biographic museum in Europe which consists of the biggest collection of chopinians in the world.

Currently, the museum's exhibition has over 5 thousand display units including autographs, first printings of the compositor's works, souvenirs, documents, letters, sculptures, graphics and also paintings. The most valuable items are the first depictions of Chopin by Eliza Radziwiłłówna, medals with an image of the compositor and sculptures by Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clesinger.

The tour is based on the interaction of exposition with visitors. The Fryderyk Chopin Museum affects the guest's senses - it plays the Chopin's compositions, shows his music in manuscripts, presents the items from Chopin's time and allows feeling the smell of violets (favorite flowers of the pianist) coming from the reconstruction of Paris Salon.

Chopin spent half of his life in Paris. His time was split between lessons and plays in salons. His last instrument is located in the Paris Salon where viewing the exhibition is accompanied by the 19th-century sounds of Paris. Visitors can also feel like a Chopin's student here, listening to the reconstruction and his tutorings.

The exposition is located on four stories and in the cellar of the Palace of Ostrogowski Family.
