Plac Wolności in Poznań is used for various purposes. Every day it performs exhibition functions. In the summer season it turns into a huge beer garden, and in the winter into an ice rink. In addition, various fairs and fairs take place here.
Originally there was a mountain here, called Mousy Mountain. The square was built only at the beginning of the nineteenth century. In the sixties of the last century it was rebuilt. Trees were cut down, decades later an underground car park was built and a new fountain was unveiled - the Freedom Fountain. In addition, the Higiei fountain was restored.
Many representative buildings were built at the square. From the north stands the Raczyński Library, from the east you can see the Provincial Museum in Poznań and Hotel Bazar, from the west Arkadia, and from the south the Bookshop of St. Wojciecha, Włościański Bank, Brandt House and Haase & Co.
