Church and Franciscan Monastery

Church and Franciscan monastery is a baroque three-aisled basilica standing on the Przemysł Mountain. Its two-wall facade is divided by the rows of pilasters and cornices. In the church there is a painting of "Our Lady of Miracles - Lady of Poznań" from 17th century. Church is ornamented with rich stucco decorations, as well as a Baroque polychrome from 18th century. In the basements of the monastery there are multimedia Mockups of the Old Poznan.

Franciscans came to Poznan in 17th  century. They have been building their monastery for 80 years, and they managed to finish it in the middle of the 18th century. The monastery church is a three-nave basilica with a transept and a dome rising above their intersection. A nave is covered up with barrel vault, while aisles - with groin vault.

The interior is covered with the polychrome from the beginning of the 18th century. It shows the scenes from the life of Saint Francis. On the tambour's dome there are sculptures of Christ and the apostles. The main altar and the altar in the chapel of the Mother of God were created by the Czech Franciscans - Adam i Antoni Swach. In the chapel, an admired painting of "Our Lady of Miracles - Lady of Poznań", is located. It was crowned in 1968. Franciscan church is the main center of Marian cult in Poznań.
