Old Town Hall

Poznań Town Hall is a gorgeous building in Renaissance style. It is located at the Old Town. In the past, it served as a town hall but today it is the headquarters of the Museum of Poznań History. One of the biggest attractions of the building are Poznań goats.

The original town hall was build in the 14th century. The only part that preserved to this day are the cellars. The building was expanded and renovated many times because of the devastating forces of nature. The current shape of the building is very similar to its version from the 18th century.

The branch of the National Museum in Poznań is located in Town Hall. Its collections are displayed in the representative halls on the first floor and the exhibition halls on the second floor. Display units which can be viewed there are mainly photographies, drawings, postcards, and handicrafts.

The most interesting feature of the town hall which attracts crowds of tourists are the goats situated on the clock tower. Every noon the tin goats show up and butt heads 12 times.
