Opole Cathedral is a Gothic building with two twin towers at the facade. Is the tallest building in Opole. The last Polish prince of Opole, Jan Dobry, is buried here in one of the chapels. There is also a picture of Our Lady of Opole, worshiped by believers as famous for graces.
The first church in this place was built in the early 11th century from the foundation of Bolesław the Brave. Relics of the Holy Cross were stored in it, from which the temple took its call. It obtained its present appearance during reconstruction in the early 15th century. It is a Gothic hall church with naves ending in semicircular apses. Valuable furnishings have been placed in the ascetic interior.
The main altar dates from the eighteenth century. It is a baroque gloria that surrounds the cross. In the side aisle there is a scare from him, the 17th century altar of the Holy Trinity. The cathedral is the burial place of the last Opole John Good. His Renaissance tombstone with a red marble epitaph is in the Piast Chapel. In the side altar, you can also see the image of Our Lady of Opole, attracting crowds of pilgrims, who was brought here from Piekary Śląskie at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
