The Groszowy Bridge in Opole is also called the Green Bridge or Bridge of Love. Plans for the construction of the Pasieka crossing appeared in the mid-nineteenth century. At that time, the City Beautification Committee was planning to develop the island, to create alleys and walkways. The first footbridge was built in 1894.
