The church of Santa Maria dei Carmini was built in the fourteenth century. It is distinguished from other religious buildings from that period by a facade made of brick and marble, an unusual decorative roof line and an impressive belfry. Inside the church you can admire the paintings of the famous Venetian painter of the good Renaissance - Tintoretto.
Both the facade of the temple and several elements inside, e.g. the presbytery and the side chapel, is dated to 1500 and later. There is also a grave monument dedicated to the admiral of the Venetian fleet Jacopo Foscarini. On the left you can admire the unusual Gothic portal, as well as the belfry crowned with the statue of Madonna del Carmianal.
