San Vito Lo Capo is one of the most famous holiday resorts in Sicily. Its advantage is a wonderful sandy beach, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. The town is also a great base for exploring the Zingaro Reserve, which can be reached by boat.
Although the town does not have a historic center and a baroque or medieval old town known from other Sicilian cities, it has its own charm. The buildings are low, there are no large hotels that are usually built up in resorts around the beach. Here, along the shore, there is a street closed to traffic, with bars, restaurants and small shops.
San Vito Lo Capo's biggest attraction is the beach. The wide, sandy bay, sheltered from the winds, creates ideal conditions for summer recreation. The beach is developed and supervised by lifeguards. There you can use sunbeds and umbrellas, bars and water equipment rental.
The coastal Zingaro Reserve is also among the attractions of the area. It covers a fragment of a rocky coast with numerous coves and meadows and Mediterranean shrubs located on the plains. You can get to know it either on foot or by taking a boat or catamaran cruise from San Vito Lo Capo.
