Cesenatico is one of the most famous holiday resorts in the Adriatic Sea. It has wide, sandy, well-developed beaches, and one of the most famous Italian amusement parks, Mirabilandia, is nearby.
The city is divided into two parts. The historic old town is located along the Fosso Vanarella canal. There are fishing boats and tourist boats moored here, and there are plenty of small restaurants, trattorias and osteries around. Many of them serve seafood and fish straight from the catch. There is also the Maritime Museum in the old part of the city.
The tourist part of Cesenatico, full of attractions and entertainment, stretches along the coast and the sandy beach. There are hotels, apartments, restaurants, clubs and headquarters of travel agencies. Many of them offer trips to Ravenna, a few kilometers away, and the nearby San Marino. Most beaches in Cesenatico are paid or owned by hotels, but there are also public sections, although there are definitely fewer of them. On the beaches, there are recreational and swimming equipment rentals, sports fields, and animations for children and adults are also organized.
