National Park of the Casentino Forests

A large national park located at the western foothills of the Apennines and covering one of the largest natural forest areas in Italy.

It is characterized by a large diversity of terrain with hills, picturesque valleys of streams and small rivers, waterfalls and higher peaks looming in the distance.

Among the forests are traditional villages with stone, historic buildings and several castles. 650 km of walking, cycling and horse riding routes have been marked out in the park.
