One of the most famous medieval Tuscan castles. It was built in the 13th century by the Counts of Guidi and has preserved its Gothic character almost intact to this day. The castle stands on a hill and its tower is a great viewpoint over the surrounding area. Inside, you can see gothic and renaissance frescoes, a chapel from the 14th century with paintings depicting the history of the Virgin Mary and St. John, as well as a library with over 800 manuscripts.
