Barletta is a historic coastal town best known for its statue of the Colossus, a bronze sculpture standing in one of the main squares. Przybyszom also offers sandy beaches located in close proximity to the center.

The city has Roman roots, and in modern times it developed most dynamically in the Middle Ages. It was one of the bases from which knights on their way to crusades in the Holy Land set off. Its greatest attraction is the Colossus of Barletta, dating from the 5th century AD. The statue was taken out of the sea and comes from the cargo of one of the ships that sank in the area. It shows the figure of the emperor, but it has not yet been established which one it is.

One of the most important monuments of Barletta is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore. The Romanesque building is built of stone, and there is a slender belfry next to it. The small medieval church of San Sepolcro also has a lot of charm.

In the Middle Ages, the Swabian Castle built by the Normans was of great importance. It was the base where knights gathered before the Crusades. It owes its present shape to the 16th century reconstruction. Currently, it houses the City Museum.
