Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore
Local name: Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore
Romanesque basilica from the 12th century on the site of a church from the 6th century. Its full body has not survived, but the building has many unusual features. It consists of two churches on a square plan connected into one whole, and under the nave there is a crypt, which was used as a chapel in the past. The 7th century painting of Our Lady of Siponto, which is now in the local cathedral, was kept in the church.
