The church was built at the beginning of the 20th century to commemorate Russian soldiers who fought 100 years earlier in the Battle of Leipzig. Their remains were buried in a crypt in the basement of the temple. It is a building modeled on Russian churches from the 17th century, with a tower above the entrance and rich stucco decoration. Inside you can see a modern iconostasis.
