The oldest botanical garden in Germany. It was founded in the 16th century at the University of Leipzig. Destroyed several times, it regained its former glory after World War II. There are plants belonging to about 7,000 species. They create collections related to different climates from around the world. Tropical and subtropical plants are presented in greenhouses.
