The Bröhan Museum is located opposite the Charlottenburg Palace in the neoclassical building of the former barracks. The museum is dedicated to the decorative art of the modern period: Art Nouveau, Art Deco and functionalism. The rich collections have been divided into two fields - artistic crafts and plastic arts. One of the rooms is dedicated exclusively to the work of the Belgian artist Henry van de Velde.
The museum exhibition was divided into 'room complexes' containing works of art, furniture and equipment, i.e. ceramics, porcelain, rugs and lamps from a designated period from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. On the first floor there is a gallery of paintings with the works of Berlin Secessionist painters, including Hans Baluschek and Karl Hagemeister.
The founder of the museum is an entrepreneur, historian and art collector - Karl H. Bröhan.
