Bad Waldsee is a small thermal spa and historic town with a preserved historic center. Hymer, a motorhome and caravan manufacturer, and a related museum are located here.
The town is already mentioned in the 10th century, and it developed in the Middle Ages as a trade center. From the fifteenth century, it belonged to the Habsburg family, who contributed to its constant development. The medieval layout of the buildings and many nice tenement houses have been preserved in the city center. Many of them are half-timbered. The market square is adorned with a late Gothic town hall with a decorative gable and a decorative clock.
A big attraction in Bad Waldsee is the extraordinary Erwin Hymer Museum. It presents several dozen caravans and motorhomes, which were manufactured by the Hymer factory since the mid-twentieth century. You can see how these vehicles and their design have changed over the years.
As befits a health resort, Bad Waldsee also has a thermal swimming pool. The Waldsee thermal baths offer relaxation and numerous health and relaxation treatments.
