La Seyne-sur-Mer is a coastal city that has been the center of shipbuilding and fishing for centuries. There are nice sandy beaches and a harbor, and there is a big fish market every morning.
The small center is adjacent to the fishing port. There are colorful tenement houses with high facades and the 19th century Notre Dame church. There are many restaurants and cafes in the streets. Many of them base their menu on fish and seafood, which are brought by local fishermen every day. La Seyne-sur-Mer is home to one of the last fish slaughterhouses in France and a daily fish market.
The Tamaris Corniche hill rises above the city, from which you can admire a nice panorama of the area. On its slopes is the 19th-century villa Grande Maison Tamaris, surrounded by a large garden.
The big attraction of the city is the sandy, wide beach with good leisure facilities. There are recreational and swimming equipment rentals, bars, and in the evenings there are discos and parties.
