Fredericia is a town on the Lillebæltsbroen Bridge that connects the Jutland Peninsula with Funen. It is known for its well-preserved fortifications from the 17th century and the urban layout reflecting the layout of the old fortress.

The city was founded in the 17th century by King Frederick III and from the very beginning it was conceived as a fortress. In the event of an invasion and the capture of Copenhagen, the Danish capital was to be moved here. Earthen and brick fortifications were developed around the center. To this day, the ramparts and earth fortifications are visible in the field and are mainly used as green areas. The gates, the Prinsens Gate and the White Tower, which was later used as a water tower, have survived from the building.

To get an idea of what Fredericia looked like during the fortress period, you can visit the Historical Minibs. It is a miniature park with a model of a 17th century city surrounded by earth bastions. Fredericia's attraction is also the Royal Bastion, where you can see his weapons and the state of preparation for battle. The history of the city is told by the Fredericia Museum with reconstructed interiors of houses and craftsmen's workshops operating here in the past.
