DRAGØR tourist attractions

+5 attractions

Dragør is a small, charming town on the island of Amager. From here there is a perfect view of the famous Sun Bridge connecting Denmark with Sweden. Dragør itself has nice, low-rise buildings, cobbled streets and an atmosphere that attracts many tourists here in summer.

The city was founded in the 12th century and for centuries it was a fishing and fish processing center. Today, many more sailboats and yachts moor in the local Dragør marina than fishing boats. Still, in many restaurants and bars you can eat fresh fish straight from the catch.

The city center is built up with low, yellow houses and sloping tiled roofs. In summer, they are decorated with creepers and flowers blooming in gardens and pots. This picturesque part of the city invites you to stroll, as does the nearby marina.

Among the attractions of Dragør are the museums here. The most important of them is the Dragør Museum located by the port. Its exhibitions are related to fishing and show the life of former inhabitants. The Amager Museum is devoted to the history and culture of the island and in addition to the exhibitions in the main building, it also includes an open-air museum where you can see fully equipped houses. In turn, the Mølsteds Museum is located in the studio of artist Christian Mølsted and presents his works from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
