Sunny Beach is the most important resort of the Bulgarian Riviera. Built after World War II, it is primarily a collection of hotels, restaurants, clubs and discos located along the sandy beach.
The village was founded in the place where in the past there were water intakes for the ancient city of Nessebar. Its main attraction is the wide, sandy beach and calm waters of the Black Sea. Every year, several hundred thousand tourists from Bulgaria and abroad relax here.
The city has over 600 hotels of various standards, as well as restaurants, bars, two aquaparks as well as shops and service outlets. Due to the very well-developed entertainment facilities with numerous discos, clubs and casinos it is often called Eastern European Las Vegas.
