Marionettentheater Schloss Schönbrunn is a puppet theater founded in 1994 in the Schönbrunn Palace. It offers theater performances and operas for adults and children. The plays most frequently performed by the theater include, among others: "Jasia and Małgosia", "Abduction from the Seragah", "Magic Flute", "Bat's Revenge", "Little Night Music" and "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp".
After the renovation of Hofratstrakt in 1994, the management of Schönbrunn Palace decided to create a small theater for children in it. The founders and artistic directors of the new institution were Christine Hierzer and Werner Hierzer - two Austrian artists with over thirty years of international experience in puppetry art. The theater team has been training future puppeteers since 1995.
The people creating this theater call it the world of fantasy, drama and art, where small wooden actors give each performance an unusual charm and soul.
