Old Royal Naval College
Old Royal Naval College is a complex of buildings designed by Christopher Wren, now partially open to the public. You can see interactive exhibitions devoted to, among others Tudorom and the historic, neoclassical Chapel of St. Piotr and Paweł. It contains organs built by Samuel Green and a set painted by Benjamin West. The building has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Restoration works on the largest historic painted ceiling in Great Britain have been underway since 2014 and will last until 2018. At this time, special tours are organized that allow you to preview the work being carried out and see the 18th-century paintings up close.
The building was built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Initially it housed the Greenwich Hospital, and in 1873-1998 Royal Naval College. When the university was moved to a new location, a museum was created in the complex.
