Emirates Air Line
Emirates AirLine is a cable car over the Thames, the first city rail in the UK. The southern terminal is located on the Greenwich Peninsula, close to the O2 hall, and the northern - in the Royal Docks district. The queue was built to celebrate the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London. Its construction was financed by Emirates airlines.
The queue was launched in 2012. It is 1 km long and travels 90 m on the River Thames, which gives you the opportunity to admire London from a height. The Thames, O2 Arena, London Eye and The Shard skyscraper are great to see from this perspective. The cable car ride takes about 10 minutes. It consists of 34 cars, each of which can accommodate 10 people. The queue serves as a tourist attraction, but it is also an important means of public transport, which is used by residents on a daily basis. Within an hour it can transport up to 2500 people.
