Museum of London Docklands
Museum of London Docklands is located on the Isle of Dogs, where in the nineteenth century housed the busiest docks in London. Here you can see ten permanent exhibitions, which include history of London docks, history of British maritime expansion, maritime trade and piracy. One of the exhibitions is devoted entirely to the time of slavery, the next period of World War II. There is also an interactive exhibition for children under 8 years old.
The Museum of London Docklands is one of the branches of the Museum of London. It was opened in 2003 and was initially called Museum in Docklands. It is housed in a Georgian-style building, which was built in 1802, during the largest expansion of the West India Docks. Originally, it served as warehouse 1, and is now on the list of Class I monuments.
