St Magnus The Martyr
Saint Magnus Martyr's Church located on Lower Thames Street in London. It is a temple belonging to the Church of England, listed on the National Heritage List of Great Britain. The beauty and location of St. Magnus The Martyr is also mentioned in the literature: mention of him can be found in "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens or in the "Barren Earth" TS Eliot.
Archaeological and historical sources suggest that the church was founded in the 11th century. The original building burned down during the Great Fire in 1666. The church was rebuilt in the Baroque style, and the work was supervised by the architect Christopher Wren. Interestingly, the church is located where the old London Bridge originally stood, demolished in 1831.
The temple attracts visitors not only with beautiful architecture, but also with the sounds of new church bells. Inside you will also find the famous four-meter model of the old London bridge.
