Leadenhall Market

Leadenhall Market is a roofed shopping arcade known since the 14th century. Located in City, Gracechurch Street. In the past, it mainly offered fresh food. Currently, there are cafes, restaurants and designer stores.

The Victorian appearance of the market is thanks to Sir Horace Jones, who in 1881 designed a cobblestone floor and decorative wrought iron and glass roof structure. Shops are located along four main passages from which you can turn into smaller alleys. A walk through these corridors has its own unique atmosphere. The market has been on the list of second-class monuments since 1972.

Leadenhall Market has been immortalized in the Harry Potter films. The blue door of the optical plant at Bull's Head Passage "played" the entrance to the Dziurawy Kocioł pub. In one of the alleys you can recognize Diagon Alley. In 2012, the market was part of the Olympic Marathon.
