Jewish Museum London

The Jewish Museum London documents the history of Jews in Great Britain from the time of the Norman conquest to the present day. One particularly valuable part of the collection is one of the world's largest collections of Jewish religious art, which includes A 16th-century Venetian ark and silver Torah decorations from the Great London Synagogue, destroyed during World War II.

In addition to sacred art, the permanent exhibitions show the history of the Holocaust, the Jewish community's participation in British public life, and the reconstructed medieval mikvah, or ritual Jewish bathhouse. The museum's collections contain tens of thousands of photos, paintings, drawings and several thousand exhibits documenting the service of soldiers of Jewish origin in the British army.

The museum conducts educational activities based on exhibits and a rich archive of oral history recordings. The first recordings were interviews with Leon Greenman, who survived six concentration camps.
