National Space Centre
The National Space Center is a space museum focused on space science and astronomy. There are six permanent exhibitions here, as well as the planetarium and the Digistar 3 cinema. Among the collections you can see, among others the Soyuz spacecraft, one of only three located in Western Europe. Inside the facility, there is also a souvenir shop and a restaurant arranged under two Blue Streak and PGM-17 Thor rocket jets.
The center is located in a characteristic building with a height of 42 meters. According to its creators, this is the only building of this type capable of accommodating space rockets. The facility was opened in June 2001 and was established in cooperation with the University of Leicester. Its construction cost over 52 million pounds. In addition to traditional sightseeing, the museum offers workshops and activities for children of different ages.
