Naters is an alpine holiday village that includes the Belalp ski resort. There are numerous ski runs here, and in summer, active hiking is possible in the area.
The village has retained its traditional Alpine architecture with wooden houses and the Gothic church of St. Mauritius. In the second half of the twentieth century, numerous guesthouses and hotels, which are also kept in a traditional style, were built around the picturesque center.
Above the center of Naters is Belalp Ski Resort. It is a small village with approx. 60 km of ski slopes, a snow park and a toboggan run. It consists of wooden houses and huts, and car traffic is prohibited on its premises. Access to the resort is only possible by the Belalp cable car.
Naters' big attraction is the World Nature Forum, a multimedia and interactive learning center dedicated to the UNESCO-protected Jungfrau-Aletsch region, which includes one of the largest alpine glaciers and the mountain valleys below.
