Harder Kulm

Harderkulm is a viewpoint located at an altitude of 1321 m above sea level, at the western end of the Harder mountain range. A cable car leads here, the upper station of which has the same name as the observation platform and is located nearby. There is also a restaurant nearby.

The restaurant and observation deck offer panoramic views of the Jungfrau, Interlaken and Unterseen regions. In the west you can see Lake Thun, and in the east Lake Brienz. You can see the Lütschine valley from here, the Bödeli forests in the south. There are also views of the high peaks of the Bernese Alps, the ridges of the Emmental Alps and the Harder mountain range.

The legend of Hardermanndli is connected with this place. It was a local girl who a wandering monk fell in love with without reciprocity. Not understanding the refusal, he followed her until the terrified girl jumped into the abyss. For this the monk was severely punished by God and turned into stone.
