Cevio is a village situated picturesquely in an alpine valley. It is surrounded by steep mountain slopes, forests and steep rock walls. It is a center for summer recreation and active tourism.
The town consists of several settlements that are scattered on different levels of the valley. The most picturesque ones are Calnegia and Val Bavoa, where traditional stone houses with slate roofs have been preserved. In turn, in larger towns you can see Italian-style villas such as Case Franzoni or Pretorio.
Cevio's greatest attraction is the surrounding landscapes. There is the spectacular Foroglio Falls and the valleys are full of rushing streams forming little cascades. In many places you can see historic stone bridges, such as the Puntid stone arch bridge. The higher places above the valley can be reached both by hiking and the Robiei cable car.
