Torekov is a former fishing village that has become a popular seaside resort. It has a nice, traditional development with wooden houses, an interesting maritime museum and a sandy beach.
In the past, the town was primarily a fishing center. Today, the former wooden fishermen's huts are turned into holiday homes, bars and small souvenir shops. Tourist boats and small yachts are mainly moored at the Torekov marina. There are few fishermen left, but at the port you can still eat fresh fish straight from the catch.
Tourists coming to Torekov have at their disposal a sandy beach and good accommodation and dining facilities. A popular attraction in Torkov are cruises to the Hallands Väderö Nature Reserve on the island. There you can see interesting rock outcrops, go for a walk along the nature path and watch sea birds.
In addition to the old buildings, the city also houses the Maritime Museum. It is located in the stern of the schooner Fram af Brantevik and presents, among others nameplates of ships that have sunk in the area and navigational equipment.
