Strandvägen is the boulevard that crosses the Östermalm district in central Stockholm. The street stretches from Nybroplan in the west to Oxenstiernsgatan and Dag Hammarskjölds väg in the east. It is 1.3 km long in total. It is surrounded by picturesque trees and historic buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Part of the boulevard is a coastal promenade.
The street is pedestrianized, while city trams run on it. It is lined with granite slabs with stylish lamps, benches and litter bins. An underground car park has been built under the street.
It is a relatively new street. The first mention of it comes from 1885, the first trees on the street built over the waterfront were planted in 1879.
