An outdoor museum on the island of Djurgården, the first of its kind in Sweden. Opened in 1891 on the initiative of Artur Hazelius. It is from this object that the name "open-air museum" is so widely accepted in Poland. There is also a zoological garden where animals in the wild are observed in this region of Europe.
On an area of 300,000 square meters there are about 140 buildings that give Sweden an industrial atmosphere. The oldest, Vastveitloftet, dates back to the fourteenth century. This place is full of life, because here you can meet many actors playing the role of the inhabitants of that period. Most chat rooms, shops and workshops can be explored from the inside. One of the attractions is the possibility to purchase goods that the craftsmen make before the eyes of guests: breads, rendered dishes and glass ornaments and even furniture.
