Drottninggatan is a shopping street in the center of Stockholm. In addition to commercial boutiques, cafes and restaurants, we will also find interesting places of culture, including the Observatory and the Strindberg Museum. Drottninggatan, the longest pedestrian street in Stockholm, leads to the oldest district in the Swedish capital: Gamla stan.
The street was marked out in the first half of the 17th century and at that time it was called the street of the Great King. It was only later renamed Drottninggatan, i.e. Queen Street, in honor of Krystyna Vasa - initially a princess and then queen of Sweden in the years 1632-1654.
At Drottninggatan we will find the Observatory located on the hill along with the museum inside, the André Oscar Wallenberg apartment, the entrance to the Small Stage of the Municipal Theater or the Strindberg Museum. It is also worth paying attention to the special beauty of architecture on Królowej Street, as well as to the famous Hötorget market square.
