Santanyí is a town in Mallorca with well-preserved old buildings and almost 50 km of coast. It includes the resorts of Cala Santanyí and Cala Figura with sandy beaches, and the area is known for its picturesque views.
The city is of medieval origin and has been raided by pirates many times in the past. For this reason, they were surrounded by defensive walls, fragments of which have survived to this day. Santanyí is often called the "honey town" because of the color of the sandstone from which the houses were built. One of the most important quarries on the island is located in the vicinity of the city.
Almost 50 km of coastline in Santanyí is full of beaches and places to relax. Many of them, such as Beach des Caragol or Cala Màrmols beach, are located far from the village and provide a quiet holiday in nature. However, in Cala Santanyí and Cala Figura you can find beaches with amenities, bars and recreational equipment rentals.
An attraction in the Santanyí area is the Mondragó Nature Park. You can get to know it both on footpaths and during boat trips. On its territory is the S'amarador beach, where sea turtles live.
