Drach Caves
Local name: Cuevas del Drach
The Cuevas del Drach cave complex consists of four underground grottoes extending at a depth of 25 meters and extending for 4 kilometers. These are the White cave, the Black cave, the Luis Salvador cave and the French cave. Between the last two there is an underground corridor that connects them.
An additional attraction of the caves is the underground Martel Lake, which is 115 meters long and 30 meters wide. Visitors can traverse the underground tourist route admiring interesting formations of stalactites and stalagmites and listen to a concert of classical music on the shores of the lake. It is also possible to sail the boat on the lake, which allows you to see the cave from a different perspective.
The White and Black Caves were discovered in 1880 by the German researcher MF Will. The other caves were found by the French speleologist Édouardo-Alfred Martel. Visiting the caves is only possible in a group with a guide.
