Pollença is a medieval town in Mallorca close to several nice beaches. Its lounge area is Port de Pollença. Among others, they rested here Agatha Christie or Peter Ustinov.
The main part of the city is located on a hill above the coast. It consists of traditional buildings, among which you can see the tower of the Church of Santa Maria desl Angels. You can see the Roman Bridge over the river that flows through the city. It is worth visiting the city museum, which is located in a historic monastery. The characteristic place of the town is the 365-step staircase that leads to the El Calvaria chapel. Stations of the Way of the Cross were placed next to them. On one of the hills there is also the Sanctuary in Puig de Maria, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. The city, although small, also has a nice park, the Garden de Joan March. You can also visit the Dionís Bennàssar Museum showing paintings by an artist associated with the area.
The holiday part of Pollença is located on the seashore. There is the rocky Port de Pollença Beach, frequented by both locals and tourists. There is a promenade next to it with many shops and restaurants, and you can rent swimming and recreational equipment on the beach.
