Plas is a historic town on the Costa Brava. It is eagerly visited by tourists resting on the nearby beaches, because a beautiful medieval old town has been preserved here, and the town is famous for its excellent cuisine.
Although Pals is not located by the sea, there are many smaller and larger resorts with beautiful beaches in the area. The town is situated on a hill and has perfectly preserved historic buildings. Stone houses climb the slope towards Pals Castle. Narrow streets, walls covered with ivy and other creepers, arched passages connecting the houses create a unique atmosphere.
The Pals Castle stands at the highest point of the village. To this day, the 15-meter tower Torre de les Hores has survived to this day, and at its base there are several Visigothic tombs. Right next to it is the Josep Pla observation deck, from which you can admire the panorama of the area. In the streets you can also see the gothic church of San Pedro, and a little further, the gothic-renaissance palace of Ca la Pruna. It houses a museum of marine archeology and an exhibition on the production of Catalan wines, cava.
