TOSSA DE MARSpain
Tossa Castle
Local name: Castillo de Tossa
Tossa Castle is one of the few examples of medieval architecture preserved in the region. It was built at the end of the 12th century right on the coast, at the foot of the headland slope. It was built to defend against pirate attacks. To modern times, mainly defensive walls, reinforced with seven fortified towers, have survived. Currently, some of them house the municipal museum.
