Plaza de España is one of the representative squares of the Spanish capital. Here, you can admire unusual examples of contemporary architecture - the square is surrounded by skyscrapers from the 1950s, which houses the headquarters of many companies and exclusive apartments. A monument was erected in the square in honor of Cervantes.

Monument to Miguel Cervantes and images of the characters in his book - Don Quixote and Sancho Pansy were created according to the design of the sculptor Rafael Martínez Zapatero. The monument was to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of this outstanding Spanish writer. The area of the square is 37,000 m².
