The church Antoni (Iglesia de San Antón) is a Madrid temple located next to the Piarist school building. Inside, you can see a faithful mockery of the painting "Last Holy Communion José de Calasanz "by Francisco de Goya. The original was placed in the Calasanctian Museum in Madrid. A large part of the skeleton of Saint Valentine, the patron of lovers, is also kept in this church. These relics arrived in Spain at the end of the 18th century as a gift from the Pope to King Charles IV, who gave them to the Piarists.
The temple is the work of Madrid architect Pedro de Ribera. King Charles IV gave the church to Piarist fathers in 1794. In the years 1794-1832, the baroque building was rebuilt in the neoclassical style. An interesting custom is associated with it - every year on January 17, on the day of Saint Anthony, abbot, patron of animals, the inhabitants of Madrid take their animals here to receive a blessing for them.
