The Ochtinská Aragonite Cave is located in southern Slovakia, near Rožňava. It is unique in the world and therefore it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In its corridors, you can admire aragonite roses, blades, bushes and needles, which create wonderful patterns on the vaults and walls.
The cave corridors are about 300 meters long. They were discovered in 1954. The cave was formed in a limestone lens surrounded by conglomerates. Its walls have a uniform gray-blue color, from which snow-white clusters of aragonite stand out. The biggest attraction of the cave is the Milky Way Grotto, where its clusters resemble the constellations of the starry sky.
