The nature park covers the protected area of the Bucegi mountain range. The area is very diverse - there are caves, canyons, sinkholes, valleys, pastures and forests. Rivers and streams flowing here create picturesque waterfalls. In the park there are two famous rock formations - Babele and Sphinx, reminiscent of the Egyptian monolith.
The park is inhabited by numerous species, mammals and birds. Bears, wolves, deer and lynx as well as squirrels, martens and several species of bats can be found here. Among the birds there are eagles, capercaillies, griffon vultures, ravens and buzzards. During the walks you can come across sun-basking lizards, salamanders, or one of several species of snakes. Be careful because there are also vipers here.
Vegetation is equally well represented. Grow here, among others larches, firs, birches and yews. There are also many flowers and herbs, including protected or endemic ones, such as edelweiss, mountain buttercups and butterflies.
