The TV tower in Galaţi is 129 meters high. It was built of reinforced concrete in 1978. Inside there is an elevator that goes to the three-story top of the tower. The lowest floor is occupied by a two-level panoramic restaurant with 220 seats. On the higher ones there are transmitters, TV and broadcasting installations, a weather station and a military base.
