Museum of Natural Sciences Răsvan Angheluţă

The Răsvan Angheluţă Natural Sciences Museum is housed in a modern complex built along the Danube coast in the city of Galati. It includes an exhibition space, an aquarium, laboratories, a planetarium and an auditorium for 150 people. The museum collections include over 60,000 exhibits.
In the planetarium there is a dome with a diameter of 7 m, on which projections showing, among others, Solar system, nebulae and star clusters. Adjacent to the planetarium is the astronomical observatory, which is one of the most important in Southeastern Europe. It has a retractable roof, several telescopes and the largest observation deck in the country.
An important part of the museum is the botanical garden with over 3,000 taxa. It is divided into several thematic sections, devoted to both native species and plants from other continents. There is also a Japanese garden, a rose garden and greenhouses.
