Museu do Vinho do Porto, as the name suggests, is dedicated to the famous wine the city is famous for. This place aims to show the history and importance of the Porto wine trade against the background of the city's development history. You can see here, among others old bottles and labels as well as miniatures of traditional, flat barco rabelo boats used to transport wine barrels from the Duero valley to the cellars located on the Porto waterfront. In addition, the museum presents the cultural, architectural and social development of the city. So we will also find archaeological remains of commercial Porto, wrecks from the Duero River, we will learn the importance of opening the Duero Line and the effects of the emergence of banking in the city. Opened in 2004, the Porto Wine Museum is housed in a beautiful 18th-century building on the banks of the Duero River, where a wine warehouse once operated.
