Botanic Garden
Local name: Ogród Botaniczny
The Botanical Garden in Zielona Góra is the perfect place for a family walk, as well as for a nature lesson. On the area of 2 ha, you can see about 500 species of plants in four thematic sections. There is a pond, a rock garden, bridges and carefully maintained alleys with benches on which you can rest while exploring.
The contemporary Botanical Garden in Zielona Góra is a reconstruction of the first establishment that was created in this place before World War II. Originalthe garden was not a scientific but recreational one, but during its reconstruction in 2006, the original layout of the alleys was preserved, as well as various installations, such as a pond or a rock garden. The difference is the careful selection of plant species, mostly shrubs, trees and rock plants typical of the Polish Karkonosze Mountains.
The specimens presented in the garden are collected in four sections: moisture-loving plants, mountain plants, geographical and plant systematics. In addition to exotic species, you can also see useful plants here, such as spice and medicinal herbs.
