Zielona Góra Palm House
Local name: Palmiarnia w Zielonej Górze
The Palm House in Zielona Góra is not only the only place where you can admire exotic plants and animals, but also part of the city's history. The attraction of the object is an observation deck and a footbridge at a height of 14 and 18 m. In the interior there is also an aquarium with a collection of colorful fish and turtles. The pavilion is surrounded by a beautiful Wine Park.
The Palm House and park have their origins in the 19th century. The first object in this place was the Winemaker's House. In 1956, it was supplemented with a glass pavilion to store potted plants, that few years later was transformed into a palm house with a cafe. Another reconstruction took place in 1984, when the facility was enriched with disco and restaurant rooms. Initially, the one story building as a result of the growth of exotic trees required an extension, which is why it was extended again. Currently, together with the park, the Winemaker’s House and the vineyard, it is a representative object of Zielona Góra.In the Palm House there are currently over 200 species of exotic plants, as well as colorful tropical fish and turtles. From the highest footbridge there is a beautiful panorama of the old part of Zielona Góra.Less
